We are on the cutting edge of what God is doing all over the world.

About Global Renewal

Global Renewal Incorporated is a 501(c)3 international organization that is dedicated to preaching the Gospel, establishing new churches, rescuing children, and helping addicts find freedom. By training and supporting young leaders and holding evangelistic campaigns, Global Renewal is able to effectively empower new pastors and plant multipliable churches internationally.

Founded by Jesse and Kay Owens in 1998, Global Renewal exists to bring the life changing power of the Gospel to those who need it most. Jesse and Kay travelled to over 100 countries in 20 years, preaching the Gospel and planting churches and Teen Challenge Centers before passing the ministry on to Jesse and Hilary Comrie in 2018.

Although he was raised in a Christian family, Jesse ran away from the Lord at a young age. He fell quickly into a life of drug abuse, drug dealing, and other criminal activity. At just 20 years old, Jesse was arrested for armed robbery. By the grace of God, he received a light sentence, but his life still did not change. Through a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit during his third time in prison, Jesse finally surrendered to the love of his Father. His life was forever changed. Since that day, he has given his entire life to telling anyone who will listen about the love of Jesus and the saving power of His cross.

Less than a year after salvation, Jesse enrolled in Zion Bible College where he met Hilary. The two fell in love during weekly street evangelism outings, where they often partnered together to reach the lost. Their relationship started with, and continues to be built upon, a deep love for God and a passion to bring Him to the world.

During Bible school, God called them to leave everything and move to Germany. They lived in Germany for five years, where they led many people to the Lord and planted a church in the town of Boppard. In late 2016, they began sensing an expanded call from God. In 2017, they prayerfully made the decision to move back to America, at the invitation of the Board of Global Renewal, to transition into the leadership of the organization. They are now maintaining a very active travel schedule, holding evangelistic meetings, leadership conferences, raising up young leaders, and planting churches all over the world.

Axel and Jacki are both ordained pastors in the German Pentecostal denomination (BFP).  They married in June 2002 and have three sons. Prior to their marriage, Axel attended Bible school in England and then returned to Germany where he served as an assistant pastor at the church founded by Jesse Owens in Neuwied. Jacki, an American, attended Zion Bible Institute (now Northpoint Bible College) and was an Assemblies of God Home Missionary serving with Chi Alpha in Washington, DC. From 2002 until April 2008 Axel served as the lead pastor in Neuwied.

Axel and Jacki have been living in Emsland, which is in northwestern Germany on the border of the Netherlands, since April 2008. They are planting a church (Christus Kirche Dörpen) and also work with Teen Challenge Emsland. Their desire is to see men, who have been bound by life-controlling addictions experience freedom in Christ and follow him whole-heartedly. They also want the people in their community to understand that Jesus loves them unconditionally and wants to have a personal relationship with them.

Jacki and Axel also serve on the board of Global Renewal Germany. Jacki is the treasurer and coordinates the mailing of the Times Square Church Pulpit Series to thousands of people in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Axel represents Global Renewal in the BFP and has various administrative responsibilities.
