Welcome to Global Renewal On-Line
Global Renewal exists to help drug and alcohol addicted people find renewed life in God's love and freedom from their addictions through the ministry of Teen Challenge residential centers globally. Global Renewal is a not-for-profit, faith based, educational, charitable service organization.
"Global Renewal represents a direct and magnificent response to our Lord's teachings in Matthew 25 when Jesus said, 'Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you do unto me.' At any given time the 'least' could be any one of us, who through circumstance or choice find ourselves highly disadvantaged, dependent, in the abyss of sin. The 'least' today, who by the power of Jesus Christ can be the 'most' tomorrow, are drug addicts, prostitutes, trafficking victims, or the disenfrancised, the unborn child or disabled person.
As Christians we know that the 'least' are everywhere awaiting rescue, but far too often we become distracted, discouraged, or too disillusioned to intervene. Global Renewal is committed to helping drug and alcohol addicted people by a means of rehabilitation through Teen Challenge residential care centers globally."
Congressman Christopher H. Smith

Germany Victory Report
Germany Report, April 13 – 27, 2009 From beginning to end, this trip to Germany had a miraculous feel to it.It began on the first flight out of Philadelphia. As I sat on the aisle seat of the center economy section, I was joined by two pastors from the Church of God.Their greeting was filled with love and warmth. Our exuberant conversation all night to Frankfurt provided me with the most enjoyable flight I have ever experienced.A Christian flight attendant stopped by, drawn by the joy of our fellowship.By the end of the flight the entire center section of that plane knew that something supernatural was going on as she knelt in the aisle requesting a prayer of blessing.I met with the staff in the Germany Global Renewal Office in preparation for the ministry events. On Friday, April 17th, the very well-known German Comedian Markus Profitlich, Pastor Axel Rindler and Hasselbrock Teen Challenge Director Betting Ratering joined me at the Steinhaus (a wonderful facility) in Soligen for a TC charity benefit.Markus’ brilliant humor combined with the musical artistry of Helmut Jost combined for a victorious evening as many new people responded with great interest to the ministry of the HasselbrockTeenChallengeCenter. The following evening, a similar event was held in Wiehl at the 400-member-strong Christ for All, a BFP (free pentecostal) church.Another good sized crowd enjoyed the excellent music and Markus’ presentation and learned of the work at Hasselbrock. On Sunday morning April 19th, Axel and I journeyed south to Bingen on the RheinRiver. There we ministered at Der Fels (The Rock) a church that I helped establish in 1988.Ingeborg Barker is a wonderful pastor to this precious group of people. It was truly a heartwarming time. That evening we headed back north to Oberhausen. There we participated in an event in a facility the local Christians rented named the Adiamo Dance Club. What an incredible evening with music from Wolf Cordero, a renowned German saxophonist, and Markus who again, was at his best.I will never forget Wolf’s rendition of the beloved hymn, Amazing Grace.Even more interest was garnered for the Hasselbrock Teen Challenge barn renovation project. The enthusiasm of the crowds advanced the Hasselbrock project forward in a major way.All of the funds raised will go toward the barn renovation. The purpose of the Hasselbrock TC barn renovation is to increase space to feed, house and counsel 20 new men that will find freedom from drugs and alcohol. We are seeking 8 to 10 work teams to come to Germany and renovate the barn.On Monday, April 20th Axel and I journeyed north to the Hasselbrock TC Center and to the community where Axel and his family live.He is pioneering a new church in Dörpen, a village of 15,000 people where there has never been a free church within a 25 mile radius.Already new people from the community are visiting the church. It was difficult to leave Hasselbrock because of my love for the Rindlers and the Teen Challenge family. What a joy it was for me to minister to the TC students and God blessed in a powerful way.As I returned to the GR office, I stopped in Cologne to meet with a couple that asked me to perform their wedding ceremony on July 11, 2009.This new Global Renewal Office is located in Koblenz. The space has been generously given to us by Peter and Hanna Friese, who operate a printing business. You will not meet a better printer in Germany than Peter (for our readers in Germany, you may contact Peter Friese at ).On Saturday, April 25th I had the distinct honor of speaking at the BFP pastors’ meeting in the Christus Zentrum in Koblenz. What a joy it was to see a gathering of men and women committed to growing churches and expanding God’s Kingdom. The phrase “the icing on the cake” perfectly describes my last service in the church pastored by Marita Schunder in Germersheim. The atmosphere was so uplifting as a full sanctuary of people sang with joy and listened to the preaching of God’s word. After the service, Pastor Marita shared with me that the city fathers had just provided approximately 10 acres of land for her new church. This is truly a miracle! She offered to give us space if we wanted to build a second floor for use as a TeenChallengeCenter. Her offer so clearly reveals her magnanimous heart.God’s Kingdom is advancing.Thank you so much for sending me to do this work.Thank you so much for your prayers.God’s best.Jesse Owens,
